Son of "Archived Links"

This is what happens when you have too many bookmarks on too many computers. You put them on your blog and pretend that they're "content".
The Would You Have Been a Nazi test
The Bacon Show One bacon Recipe per day, every day, forever
British Film Institute's Top fifty films for children up to the age of 14
Bacon of the Month Club
BaconRobots
Time Management for Anarchists
Norbain Another block-related puzzle game

More links from the library

The most annoying thing about sifting through the magazine back issues at the library (outside of the dozens of missing issues) is how many webpages no longer exist. Sure, the Wayback machine is great, but what if I actually want to buy something from a defunct page. Ach. Anyway, here's this week's library link list:

Stuntology (book): "liberate your inner twelve year old.

Cave One one-two person three season tarp

Magiscope The Family Microscope, even for families with really small kids

Scitoys Build your own gauss rifle and SAVE!

Tweezerman Apparently the best tweezers that money can buy

Laptop Lunches The American equivalent of the Bento lunch

I thought this self portrait I shot today was pretty nifty until I saw this.

Still more found on the desk

"If I knew then what I know now, I would have had more of a plan. I would have understood something I never did when I was young: that if you show up and you believe you're ready, you are. You're going to accomplish something very close to what you want to achieve."

More FOXHOUND members...

Using my heavily modified Absurd Play module for the still-runs-fine-in-classic-mode Kant Generator Pro, I randomly generated some more potential members of FOXHOUND:
Addiction Ferret
Chicanery Horse
Taco Stork
Ransom Woodpecker
Meatloaf Scorpion
Vengance Kiwi
Accumulator Mouse
Corruption Cobra
Irony Aardvark
Shadow Dolphin
Agriculture Cheetah
Doppelganger Lemur

That's a good looking team!

Let's get virtually ready to RUMBLE!!!!

Gamefaqs is doing their usual summer tournament to determine teh coolZ0est video game character and, as usual, it's just some petty popularity contest. OF COURSE, Bowser is more popular than Chun Li: He's in Super Smash Brothers. In fact, if one were to determine the hierarchy of the popularity of the various games, it would be easy to determine the winners.
Final Fantasy 7
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Legend of Zelda
Final Fantasy X
Halo
Every Other Game
And so on.

Now, that's their decision to base these matchups on popularity, but come on. I don't even know who some of these characters are. And I like video games. I can only imagine what someone who didn't follow gaming would think of some of the entrants:
Gordon Freeman
Sarah Kerrigan
Tommy Vercetti
Carl Johnson

So far, so good... right? A respectable group of people who could have been names taken from my fifth grade class picture.

Squall Leonhart
Vincent Valentine
Joanna Dark
Alucard (aka Adrian Farenheits Tepes)

Ok, not a set of names you're likely to see outside of a renaissance fair, but no big deal. Moving on:

Kratos, God of War
Revolver Ocelot
Ganondorf
Big Boss
Knuckles the Echidna
The King of All Cosmos
CATS

What kind of a contest is this?! The God of War may have to fight an Echidna? Pac-man is up against somebody called Revolver Ocelot? The King of All Cosmos lost to Tidus the other day? Tidus isn't even [spoiler]! He's just a [spoiler] of the [spoiler]! This so-called tournament is unfair.

Update: A baby echidna is called a puggle. Also, echidna are monotremes. Again also, monotremes are adorable!

Further update: Revolver Ocelot is on a team with Vulcan Raven, Psycho Mantis, Sniper Wolf, Decoy Octopus, and Liquid Snake.

More things in my pocket.

Blogger dot com! Why are you so slow? It's hard enough to write creative posts, but it's so very slow to upload. Anyway, here's what I found written on something in my pocket:

A Force More Powerful (non-violent strategy game)
306.0973 (the dewey number for Everything Bad is Good For You at the local library. Both copies checked out, plus a 6 patron waiting list. Read faster, guys!)
